CHEAPEST FLIGHT TRAINING IN PHOENIX

Military exercise at Blythe Airport

Blythe Airport is the home of a military air operations training company that provides specialist parachute and cargo drop training to the US DOD. The navigation charts have the parachute symbol and there is generally a NOTAM up advising all airmen that a military parachute operation exists at the airport.

A large military training exercise that is scheduled to start Feb 1st. This exercise will run through until March 25th.

While flying into Blythe Airport is not prohibited, be aware that there will be multiple aircraft operating within a 10 NM circle (and possibly further out) assigned to the airport for parachute operations by Los Angeles Center. If deciding to fly into Blythe Airport, understand there may be delays as military activity will take precedence over GA.

We suggest you choose Riverside Airport (P20) 38NM to the Northeast, or Chiriaco Summit Airport (L77) 50NM to the West, as alternatives during this period. If choosing Riverside, be mindful of the Quail MOA to the south.

Students love Fly at GoodyearAm I just a number?

Absolutely not! While we're a smaller school, or perhaps because we are, we can give very personalized and tailored tuition that fits both your lifestyle and budget. We believe learning to fly should not only be rewarding, but fun, so we have a range of instructors and aim to team you up with the one who best suits you.

How much does it cost to learn?

This is a great question, and is one of the questions we answer in our learn to fly FAQs page. However, the average pilot, starting from scratch, can expect to pay around $9,500 for their private license.
